Construction Worker

For this model, I have experimented with blending realism with the exaggerated proportions and simple skin of a cartoonish character.

Fantasy Villager

Realizing that not every title that comes out these days utilized the latest in graphics technology, I have turned by attention to modelling a lower poly character with only a single texture map and no fancy shaders.

Huscarl

Big, bulky, and wrapped in the latest chainmail fashion, the Huscarl is part of elite class of Viking warriors. In addition to carrying an axe capable of splitting a man in half, he has several throwing axes, a sword, and a big wooden round shield. His chain shirt and engraved headpiece are not only the envy of the other vikings, they're also practical on the battlefield!

Polygon Count: 4841 trianges. The chain mail in the high resolution model consists of thousands of individual chain link meshes. This was accomplished by laying out flat strips of chain mail around the body, using Skin Wrap(equivanent to a wrap deformer in Maya) to have the links driven by a low resolution proxy, and then performing a cloth simulation on the low resolution mesh. Pirate Captain

This grizzled old seadog is a veteran of sending unfortunate landlubbers to Davy Jones' locker. Armed with a powder-packed blunderbuss rifle, he's not afraid to get up close and blow away whoever or whatever stands in his way. As if that's not enough, his vicious man-eating attack parrot is more than willing to peck the eyes out of the nearest bilge rat. For close quarters combat he carries a rusty old cutlass that may not be as effective as the other instruments of destruction, but it sure can cause a bad case of tetanus.

Polygon Count: 4315 trianges. Original low poly mesh by Orl.I took this model, optimized and UV'd it, built the high res geometery, and make the normal and color maps. Software used - 3ds max, mudbox, photoshop, crazybump

Heavy Knight

Like a medieval version of a tank, these elite troops are capable of withstanding a tremendous amount of damage and can dish out almost the same.

Polygon Count: 4668 trianges. Skinned in collaboration with Xealous. Software used- 3ds max, photoshop

Skirmisher

The scurvy-infested dogs of any pirate crew. They may be weak, but they are fast. Fast, despite having a powderkeg strapped to their back. When outnumbered, a common tactic is to use the powder keg as a sort of suicde bomb- Running directly into a large group of enemies with the keg lit.

Berserker

Berserkers are legendary Norse warriors known for their ferosity in battle and ability to go into an extreme state of rage. Some say they eat mushrooms to induce this rage. Others say they have a special spirtual bond with the gods, who grant them this gift. We, however, say they just get really pissed off.

Environment Prop Models

These textures were an exercise in graphic design. The labels were created as vector art in Adobe Illustrator and then dirtied up in Photoshop.
